I’ve only used my Tattler lids for canning one time (today will be the second). However, I use them ALL the time for storing things in my jars from milk kefir to ground flour. I don’t bother putting the seal in when storing food/beverages in the jars. I, too, like that I don’t have to worry about the metal corroding.
